Flame of the candle goes out!

Thinking: What other ways can be used to put out the flame besides blowing it?
Materials: a candle, saleratus, some vinegar, a box of match, a bowl
Procedure:
1. Ignite the candle and drop some candle of molten state on the center of the bowl, and then fix the candle in the bowl.
2. Add some saleratus powder around the candle, add some vinegar into the bowl.
So, what happens?
The flame disappears.
Why?
Carbon dioxide will form when we combine saleratus powder with the vinegar.
Carbon dioxide will put out the flame.
What’s more?
Think it over, in which conditions can we put out the flame? Could you come up with some more ideas?
